Tutorial: Add Camera

Support Overview

  Important information before adding a camera to VILTKAM

  • You need to be able to add an email reception in the trail camera settings
  • We only support Pictures. It's important to set the camera to only take pictures!
  • We recommend using the setting Small or Normal for the picture size
  • We recommend setting the delay for capturing pictures between 10-30 minutes.
  • We recommend that you set a daily limit for captured images of 15-30 images per day
  • If you what trouble setting up the SMTP in your camera, contact support and we will try to help you
  • It's very important to remove email settings from the trail camera if you stop using VILTKAM

Add Camera

From the home page, you can add a new camera with the button




To register a new camera some information about the camera need to be provided
Camera Name Name your camera
Camera Brand Select brand of the camera
Camera Model Provide information about the model
Location You may enter the location of the camera
Color Choose a color to represent your camera

You only need to provide camera name and brand. You can leave the other fields blank if you want




Camera Added

After you added a new camera you automatically will be redirected to the edit settings page. Here you can modify the settings of the camera

Here you also see the important e-mail address to configure your trail camera with. The email is auto generated and can not be modified


If you want to share your camera to friends, you find a link to share camera settings. You can read more here: Tutorial: Share Camera

You can pause your camera here by unchecking the Active checkbox. If active is unchecked no new pictures will be read by VILTKAM and received pictures will be discarded

Please remove the e-mail from the camera settings if you stop using VILTKAM




Now we wait, for new pictures...

VILTKAM checks for new picture every 15 minutes. If you haven't recived your first pictures within 24 hours and are almost certain the camera has taken a picture contact support and we will investigate
